Well, I just rolled in last night from another month of traveling and am sitting here in the library today thoughtful about being on the road, and coming back home after.

I did all kinds of crazy stuff while backpacking this time around, and walked so many miles that my head is still spinning, I feel slap happy, and just amazed. Yesterday and the day before I walked 77 miles with a 25 pound backpack and short of one bus ride and two car rides the whole month, I walked where I was going and home the whole time. And, I have to say that it was fantastic.

There was the flying of cardboard flags for food donations. There was busking at the bottom of freeway exit ramps with my double flute for breakfast money and cigars. There was more life talks than you can shake a stick at, and I think that the bulk of the world’s problems were secretly solved over breakfast tacos and late night beers on the side of gas stations.

I got home full of mad plans this time around. I kept remembering Sal Paradise and Dean Moriarty from Jack Kerouc’s On The Road and as I like Sal’s approach the best, I’m sitting here writing a ton today while memories are still fresh.

Per usual, my phone kicked out on this trip – the charging port went kapow, and dirt and debris got into the charging cord. I pawned my laptop along the way, and went low tech for a good portion of the month. And, I have to say, that I didn’t miss it one bit!

I’ll be working over the next couple days to get stories together, and get them published out here for the readership – this was a FUN trip and cannot wait to share some of the better moments with everyone!

Thank you to all the people who read the site, and sorry there was little warning of the last months sojourn out there – things just happened on the fly, and in looking back on this, I think it happened for a reason as all things do – and it was great!

Thank you for taking the time to read, and as always, please feel free to leave a message in the box below.
