Today, I’m thinking about the idea of filtration. Most people think of fish tanks – but I have something else in mind. Let’s take a walk, down the halls of my ALMOST favorite subject to think about – POWER.

Have you ever wondered, why there is only a handful of truth in each of the books we read? Some people get a little irritated that there is not more, some are comfortable with the levels of truth that are there. I was thinking about this recently, and realized that books are actually a filter of a kind. A filter? Yes. Because, the light and power of knowledge burns very brightly.

To put this in a better way: Power, eats people alive. It corrupts over a long enough timeline without breaks in between. And, even then….over a long enough time line it erodes things. Knowledge, is a kind of power. So, it seems that books, and their smaller handfuls of truth are sharing this valuable power with us, but its filtered so that we don’t get TOO much.

I was also thinking, about money. Money, is the route of all Evil, according to some. Banks, seem to be a filter for money. People are calm around smaller sums, and nobody really bats an eye. But, very large sums of money, and people seem to go a little crazy. Bank employees, seem to be impervious, or at least resistant to being around that money all day long. And, I got to thinking about something with all this: I asked myself the question, of whether bank employees are math people, or literary creative types? And, if they are math people, are they resistant to being around all that all day long? This idea, begs a few questions. And, I’m going to leave it interpretive….

And, all of this leads back to the ideas, and laws of POWER. There are the 48 Laws of Power, a book that showcases and answers more than a few questions about the entity of Power. My personal favorite law, that I flagrantly disregarded all the time growing up, is Never Outshine the Master. 🙂 Whoops.

There is physical power, knowledge, workplace power, the list goes on. All these kinds of power, can erode the Holder of them over time. But, thankfully there are books, and techniques to manage this, and keep it from happening. Its food for thought, and this blog is really exposing the tip of a very large iceberg as related to this subject. But, power is everywhere in this life, and the need for the ultimate art form – balance. Yin and Yang strikes again!

Short time but a good time today, thank you for reading everyone! I’m sitting here wondering privately what the coffee shop is a filter for, and WHO is impervious or resistant to a tall latte. 🙂 Of these, the questions unanswered, but I’m going to be thinking about this subject for quite some time to come!

I am including a tip form below, and would really appreciate any tips or donations you would be willing to make to the site. It says coffee, but there is all kinds of things for the site that are needed. And, in the near future, GREAT writing – not just great ideas – is going to return. Thank you for reading and your time, and as always, please feel free to leave a comment in the box below. Thank you!
