Good morning everyone! I’m finally back after a month of travel and backpacking, and excited to share a series that I’m writing about these experiences. I will add a title photo to this blog a bit later – I still have to make a picture these days, as rising image costs are a factor once more.

I have broken down the last month into three categories. Traveling as a tourist, traveling as a backpacker, and traveling as a homeless person. I was out there doing this research, and I think I now have enough ammo to do at least 10 blogs over the next month and a half.

I liken the last month to being in an hourglass while this was going on. I started with money and all the necessary things. Creativity, excitement and enthusiasm. It was kind of like the beginning of Das Boat. And, like Das Boat, there were a few challenges and a few speedbumps along the way. Over time all that was put into action at the middle of the hourglass with the falling sand that was, life as it was happening. And, after, it was looking at the experiences, lessons learned and getting ready to flip the hourglass over with all the new experiences gained. I’m not sure what direction this next path will lead to – but I am looking forward to routines, and creature comforts returning – along with a new apartment to live in!

Recapturing the glory days of my youth in terms of backpacking was no easy trick. I used to be very good at all this in my twenties and thirties. However, 24 years on hiatus made this quest to relive the glory days a bit of a challenge. In short, I did great. But, I also got my rear end kicked along the way too by challenges.

So, in the next day or two the first “real” blog will be out and the crazy train will start rolling onward again. Thank you to everyone who is still subscribed to the site! The well is refilled, and I have done what I think is some of the best writing over the last month that I have ever cranked out. I am looking forward to publishing this – this is going to be fun.

*Side Note: The last blog I wrote I introduced Mr. Danger as a consultant to theblindmansociety.com staff. Any nutty or idiotic idea, was run past him for input. We here, at theblindmansociety.com are serious about keeping good writing on the path.

While I was traveling over the last month, I consulted Mr. Danger a lot. I asked for the lightning doppler danger radar forecast regularly. Most days it was standard issue danger. Some days, it was garden variety danger. But, SOME days, Mr. Danger was so overwhelmed that he just fainted. I’m no expert, but my own amateur opinion on the above matter is that things were a little effing dangerous – those days, I can tell you. 🙂 And, for those who are concerned that it was dangerous – this last paragraph is purely for shock value – everything was and is ok.

Short time, but a good time today. Thank you for taking the time to read this blog, and I hope that everyone out there has a great day – wherever you may be in the world. As always, please feel free to leave a comment in the box below!
