Today, I’m thinking about the idea of power. They say, that absolute power corrupts absolutely. And, that it rocks absolutely too. But, the truth is that power eats people alive over a long enough timeline.
When people think of power, most think of positions in the workplace. However, I think there are more kinds of power than just that. For example, knowledge is power. Too much knowledge is not a good thing either? Is there metaphorical, physical, symbolic power? Individual, and group power?
For me, Chi power is growing these days. Yes, the stuff the Jedis use. I sit here at the coffee shop flipping paperclips into my coffee cup while making it move slowly towards me as I type. Some have asked, if I have a light saber. My response, is that I would only use it to trim the hedges. So, that lightsaber ownership problem is taken care of, I think…
People have asked how my time off has been. I liken it to the movie Fight Club. I have become…enlightened. Yes, these are Super-Positive Idiot Sunblock wrappers, and my Chi brand paperclips from the shop. Yes, I am comfortable with that. I AM ENLIGHTENED.
I wanted to thank everyone for being patient with me while I have been refilling the writing creativity well. I got a lot of great feedback and encouragement for my last blog out here before going on vacation, and I wanted to say that those who reached out are pretty magical people too! So, thank you!
Short time but a good time today in the blog length department. I am busy getting my writing chops back these days, and REALLY missed doing this. So, hoping that it is back to ten blogs a month again before you and I know it.
