Good morning, a quick starting thank you to everyone for taking the time to read “Simple Choices for a Richer Life”, the latest blog on theblindmansociety.com!
Over at the shop this morning, and thinking about my surroundings right now. Spatial awareness is always clutch, and this morning I have one thing to say: Hello, Mr. Blackbird! Drinks tonight? (Chirping back) How’s it going Mr. Tree? (He’s humming “The Trees” by RUSH) What do you say there, Mr. Leaf? (I’m not HAPPY, Jon!)
Speaking of not being happy, they plowed down the wild between the carwash and the housing development recently. This place was kind of like Dagobah with Yoda, and I’m not real sure where I’m going to go now to decompress after writing and its got me thinking about the idea of deforestation.
It makes no sense to me that we make all this money destroying places in the world, only to turn around and take all the money that was made from doing it, and then spend all this money to go to the few places that are left. Hm.
When I was in my 20s, I used to think it would be a great idea for all the troublemakers in this world to board rockets and go to space. That would get them out of here, out of our hair, and we could fix everything and have a more peaceful and better world. They have yet to do this, but it seemed like radical thinking back then!
On to the Chi – yes, the stuff the Jedis use. I have recently come to the conclusion that a slow burn on my Chi usage is key. My personal Chi abilities have high levels of torque, but I try hard to use it responsibly. My coffee cup is slowly sliding towards me right now as I type, and nobody is any the wiser. Hm.
Christmas music has started where I am on the store mix tapes. Everyone, including me LOVES Christmas music. But, after a couple weeks of listening to it non-stop, there is the occasional maniacal look that is seen, people skipping down the aisles and laughing, and some just looking like they are going farther and seeing more. My personal favorite song, is Grandma got Run Over By a Reindeer….
Finally, the last thing I’m thinking about this morning is what we, as human beings can really handle. And, it makes me think about the ultimate art form – balance. I spiel off about Yin and Yang, alot. But, if it gets too good, we white out. If it gets too bad, we black out. If we get too smart, we go nuts. If we are not smart enough, we are in TROUBLE. If we learn too much too soon, and too fast, its not good – I have written about depression learning cycles before – and if we don’t learn enough and quickly enough, its a problem!
My last disjointed thought this morning, is endings of books and life truths. I think, there is far more than just a handful of “what does it all mean, and what is the secret to life” truths out there. I think, like music, these life truths find us based off the way we live out there. And, once we become aware of them, we pick and choose what works best.
I often joke, that being at the coffee shop this much as my place of writing, is kind of like me being a young Conan pushing the turnstile and getting stronger and bigger as the years pass. If you want to get smarter and stronger, go into a circle, is what I decided a long time ago. This is also known as one of the most comforting things there is – routine. Because I think, whether we know it or not, we are getting stronger and better, more balanced and healed every day that we do this. Hm.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog, and I hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC Friday wherever you may be out there. Its a cold day here, but the sun is out, and the wind is up and what a great thing that is! Please feel free to leave comments in the box below, and TGIF!
