Well, I’m going through one of those “writing weightlifter plateau things” right now… Its been days without posts…kind of like when all the bowling alleys were destroyed and there was no beer anywhere. And, back at it this morning to give it another try….
Went to a jam session last night, and it was much fun. Making noise is very cathartic, and the fact that the dogs in the neighborhood were not barking tells me that it was good noise! I love it when people thread the needle, hit the right notes and trade off solos well. It makes it so fun!
Star Trek, one of my favorite TV shows from the past used to have a formula they followed. Have an adventure, chase some alien women, and tack on a lesson at the end. This realization has got me thinking about formulas again today. Like, formulas for a successful rock video. First you take fast cars, then you take very beautiful women, and sprinkle in a couple explosions. Scarface, reminded us of the most famous formula: First, jou get de money, DEN, jou get de power, DEN jou get de women. They are everywhere out there, these formulas….you just need to look at things a little differently to find them.
As with all things interpretive, this is making me wonder what the formula for this particular blog is? I’m pondering the big questions over at the shop today. I will probably have to take this cover image down of Pinky and the Brain doing their formula magic but it was too good to pass up when I found it. The rocket boots are particularly inspiring for what is, in my opinion, THE most fantastic photo of all time.
