My super-positivity bunker has gone on the road. Remote off-site location #7, the golf course was the base of operations and location for this blog. There were plenty of flying golf balls out there today, and I risked getting beaned and lots of curious looks as I sat and wrote this one.

I wrote once about the character of Max from the book Almanac of the Dead, by Leslie Marmon Silko. Max was a gangster, who left his major city to basically take over a golf course. People went to go visit him and drink and talk over golf. They were totally out of their element, and totally in his. It worked great, this system, until Max disobeyed a weather report and got struck by lighting and was welded to his putter. A tragic end, so I am taking a page from his playbook and staying out of view and under cover today!

Sorry, just changed locations, I’m down by the lake now. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. It all started a long time ago. In the beginning, there was nothing – and then POOF! The Blind Man Society was born. I’m saying this not in words this time around though. This is coming out as the oral tradition with my flute. Telling stories, and sprinkling in flute music to create a musical narrative. To the best of my knowledge, not many people do this out there. And, I wanted something unconventional and very cool to remember all this by. My first song and story is called the stonefish, and the owl. And, its going to be GREAT.

I also had a great local adventure today. I sold something at the pawn shop to get some money, my landlord – the now world famous man who posed in front of the burning doghouse – and I scored some free pizza, I bought some cigarettes, had two, lost the pack, almost cried (my bottom lip was physically trembling) and then found them again, and then we walked to get beer, sat in the wild between the housing development and the car-wash and got some major life problems figured out. It was a perfect day – and as I am learning, perfection wears many faces…

So, to distill, I am very grateful for a fantastic day today. I hope all of you had one as well, wherever you may be out there! My roaming range these days is about 4 million square feet since I am on foot walking everywhere. But, we are having the time of our lives in this 4 million square feet preserve of perfection and I just thought I would share tonight.

I’m going to use my 9 iron now to go after the guy at the driving range who in in the little caged in golf cart picking up balls. Every time you hit him, I’m told that a miracle occurs out there somewhere. I’m hoping that this is true – to be shared with all who are reading this blog right now, and that you are safe and well out there, wherever you may be. Some may require more than one – rest assured, I’m going to let this poor guy have it as many times as I can….

Take care everyone, and have a wonderful day out there! As always, please feel free to leave a comment in the box below.
