Short one today, before getting back on track.
So, I’m sitting here thinking about writing for this site over the last year. Lots of fond memories, and one big question looms large when I get through all the stuff. Was it worth it?
I chucked Program and Project work to become a writer since that is what I really loved and that’s what I really wanted to do. Do I regret this? No. Was it fun as all get out? Yes. Did it educate people, and make them smile, learn and be positive? Yes. Did it pay? No. Do I have to grow my own genetically altered food that goes from seed to harvest in time for dinner to cut costs? Yes.
BUT, I met a LOT of fantastic people, word got out all over the planet, and this site rose to pretty high on the ladder. Plus I got the writing credentials, and this Robert Johnson type curve ball site is now my writing portfolio.
So, its been a great success – thanks to all of you! – and I accomplished what I set out to do. This is really what I’m trying to say. And, what was that? To get and build a website, build a following, learn how to get writers on board, build a portfolio and juggle all this with things out here. And, manage rising image costs well. Lol! I was briefly a teacher, but I couldn’t really say most of what is on this site in that kind of a setting. And, what is the point of knowing things that might help someone, if you cannot share them with people?
Other people saw me do this, and said: you know, I think I’D like to do this too. And a lot of voices that wanted to be heard here where I live, with no vehicle for it, are now heard. (And, probably with better looking websites than mine – grumbling quietly but smiling 🙂 ). I made people think, laugh, probably get irate at some points, and I met some GREAT and utterly brilliant people also. And really, is there anything better in this life than getting to do what you love, helping people out, and making some fantastic new friends in the process? As I’ve said before, Blowtorch Lady has her own sub-culture now and others got very good exposure too!
Being at the shop every day, and it is no secret that I come here five times a week to write, has been a wonderful experience and really, one heck of a magic break from things out there. It has been inspiring, healing, and to say it again – pure positive FUN. “They” are right – do what you love and its no longer work. Be yourself, and the soul tribe appears. If you start a journey in not the best shape, a little bit every day (no matter how little – forward progress is forward progress) you will be better before you know it.
While I’m making no bold proclamations about anything, I think keeping perspective and a happy positive outlook on life is the better way to go. Even if you have to hide in a super-positivity bunker, literally, to do it. Where is remote off-site location 1-3? I’m sure I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m thoughtful about a lot today.
No, I’m not stopping the site, I’m not saying goodbye, the crazy train rolls on, and season five is coming. I skipped season three for personal reasons, and we are about to conclude four. There is an unknown number of seasons coming, but I’m a big fan of spiritual mathematics and numbers. I think right now, I’m just taking stock of things today before I leave the shop for my super-positivity bat cave out there…where, I will continue to broadcast my pirate signal.
I have so much to do in the next couple months its not even remotely amusing. There’s a lot of ins, a lot of outs, a lot of what-have-yous in the present and coming equations, and I’m NOT a math guy. Knowing thyself presently and my work is definitely cut out for me. Laughing!
Have a GREAT day out there, everyone – wherever you may be! Thank you for taking time out of your day to read all these blogs I and others write, and as always, please feel free to leave comments in the box below!
