I’m sitting here at the crib this morning listening to Light My Fire by the Doors, and thinking about a subject that really makes the world go round. Love – and the chase. I really wish someone was here to give this blog a once over before I release it. But I’m rolling the dice…
I should save this for Valentines Day, but, maybe a blog on romance today? What is everybody’s favorite story on romance and circles and losing someone only to get them back later? Edmond and Haydee? Gatsby and Daisy? F. Scott and Zelda? Hemingway and Hadley? Leaving the cage door open? Yes? In a way, the couple is going into the wilderness. For growth away from each other. Only to return, reunite and be stronger for many years to come.
The trick, is not to let this go on too long…
Me personally? Jumping on a plane to fly to a foreign country to tell a woman how I feel, with no guarantees of it being returned has been done before – Italy is a beautiful country! Men know this feeling: Those depression hunger pains, not being able to eat for a couple days, the hopeless pitiful look aka the somebody shot my dog dead look after being shut down initially, returning to try again, and after eventual success, to find a new solution for moving forward. Like, mailing an open ticket in a picture frame. Break the glass use the ticket, and see what happens. The fun of destruction, coupled with a new adventure. Who could steer wrong with that. Maybe include a bottle of wine to be drank while you do it. A poem too.
Flowers. Every man reading this already knows what all the different rose colors mean, right? Candy. Caramel and chocolate. Jewelry. I actually liked to work with a place to design my own for someone. The Day of the Woman. (As a friend put it so well while we were going farther and seeing more while liquid assisted, “God bless these women!”
The subject of dinner. For me, it’s the famous salmon and asparagus night. I cook. Some candles, some music, some chaos and discord in the kitchen, and working together to make the meal from hell. This is followed by sitting down with the music machine and trading off being a DJ all night, playing each other your favorite songs while taking turns.
And, finally, when the fun’s all done for the night I’ll share my favorite couple’s drinking trick with you. For those who drink beer, step one is: drink ALOT. This is like throwing wax on a car. Step two, is drink some Corvoisier – one or two should do it. This, takes the wax on the car, and buffs it to a high shine. You can metaphorically float for HOURS on this with no further consumption. A great trick before going into the movies as well.

Have a fantastic Friday, everyone! Thank you to those who did donate recently, and TGIF – the crazy train rolls on… 🙂 Also, please pardon this cover picture of unspecified flowers from the shop parking lot…there were no yellow ones nearby. Hm. 🙂
