Who could forget the famous answer: To crush your enemies, and hear the lamentations of the women. I personally was a fan of the eagles on your arm, the wind in your hair. Either way, its a question I’m asking myself today.

So.  What IS best in life.

I love the phrase Carpe Diem.  Seize the day.  This one is great, because it causes people to go live, but not overdo it.  Its encouraging, and its moderation.  Anything beyond that, and you are in danger of entering “shooting star” territory.  As is said in the movie Blade Runner, the light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.  And, once again, it all goes back to Yin and Yang, and the idea of balance.  Which, is one of the greatest art forms there is.  Balance.

For the Dresden Dolls music group, I wonder to myself about the song “Coin Operated Boy.”  We all want someone we can control, but, the truth is that most people probably would not.  Can you imagine what would happen if your kids and spouse woke up one morning and did whatever you wanted?  At first, you might be thrilled.  Over time, it might be hell on earth.  Nice in theory, but, it’s something to think about.

For me personally, when I think about what is best in life…it’s the process of making a new friend, and having your family with you.  Travel is wonderful, discovering a new song with some lyrics that you make up because they just sound better, reading a new book and making private realizations that only you get to experience, Orange Eye Parson’s Chameleons – the Cadillac of chameleons and also the hardest to keep, according to some, the list goes on.  I could write an entire series about what I think is best out there.  Royalty-free images too, for this website!

But, I think THE best things out there, are the unsolveable.  And, the interpretive.  I wrote a long time ago, I think it was the first blog on this website, that human beings are artwork.  To the naysayers, there are roughly 4.8 trillion of us out there.  Good luck figuring all of them out in this lifetime. 😊

I’m watching the sunset tonight over at the shop and realizing that I have walked over 200 miles in the last month.  I always figured I’d probably keel over from it, but as with all things, a little bit every day and balance can produce AMAZING results in my experience!

Have a GREAT night everyone, and as always, please feel free to leave your comments in the box below!
