Today, I’m thinking about having, as we say here in the USA, champagne tastes on a beer budget.
How many times, have you picked out the perfect item along the way, only to find that it is not only the best, but several hundred to thousands of dollars. Many of us, think…hm, no problem, we’ll go on a payment plan. BUT, only to find that we are not approved for it, or, that it will take roughly two years to life to pay off. Hm.
This exact thing happened to me this morning. I was looking at glow in the dark watches and guitars, and happened upon the two perfect ones. Minor details were that they are thousands of dollars. I immediately started looking at things I own to sell to get the money together, and realized that I don’t have anything that would accumulate to the first payment. 😊
Alas, they remain a goal. Anybody out there feel my pain, and can you relate? (Laughing)
And, then I remember something very important. They are only material things. And, not the most important thing – the knowledge that drives them. You can play excellent music on any guitar, and you can tell time with a sundial – you don’t need a cool watch that lands airplaces and opens garage doors simultaneously. I’m reminding myself of a lot this morning.
Somebody in the coffee shop casually suggested I become a student and after paying thousands in tuition, being eligible for all kinds of loans. In a year, once I am approved for such a plan, it will still take me two to pay off. So, there’s no escaping the reality. It’s time to start a lemonade stand, and commence Operation Fat Wallet.
Have a great day out there, everyone and as always, please feel free to leave comments in the box below!
