This morning, I’m thinking about something I heard over in Tanzania. I try hard not to write about my time in Africa anymore because I became Al Bundy reminiscing about four touchdowns in one high school football game with my well-worn Africa stories. 🙂

I visited a Maasai village over there and learned that the chief came to the USA for his education, and got his master’s degree. He went home to his village, and apparently told his people very little of what he learned. His reasoning, was that he wanted to let them live their way for as long as possible, and when change was unavoidable, he would help them.

This is one example of a very carefully controlled environment.  There are certain ways of living, speaking, being that are just culturally accepted in these small havens.  They are just not as compatible with the outside world.  Only certain outsiders are allowed to have contact with them.  And, they have to be so careful as not to introduce snakes into their gardens.

These days, I think a lot about Edens. Someone told me once, that you cannot stop things. But, you can slow them down.

Hope everyone has a great day!
